FDA Issues Warning About Black Licorice For Halloween. If you were planning on wolfing down black licorice for Halloween, you may want to choose something less risky to your heart, like candy corn.

Not that candy corn is good for your heart. (It’s not even really corn, in case you didn’t know). The Babysitter

Development

On November 24, 2014, it was announced that Brian Duffield’s horror comedy script The Babysitter had been bought by McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision, with McG and Mary Viola set to produce the film. The project was brought in by executive producer Steven Bello. In December 2014, the script appeared on the 2014 Black List of the best unproduced scripts in Hollywood.

On September 10, 2015, McG was attached to direct the film for New Line Cinema, while Wonderland would co-finance the film along with the Boies/Schiller Film Group. Principal photography on the film began on October 27, 2015, in Los Angeles.

December 2016, Netflix acquired distribution rights to the film, from New Line Cinema. It was released on October 13, 2017.

How is the movie doing?

On metacritic the movie has a user rating of 7.4. On Rotten Tomatoes the movie is rating with a 69%, 9 fresh, 4 rotten.

Plot:

The movie is about a boy conquering his fears with a hot baby sitter! His parents leave for a trip over the weekend, leaving him and his baby sitter all alone. Is the baby sitter as awesome as she seems to be or is something amiss?!

Directed by Brian Duffield: a writer and producer, known for Insurgent (2015), Jane Got a Gun (2015) and The Babysitter (2017).

Directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, known as McG, known for Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Terminator Salvation, co-created the television series Fastlane and has executive produced numerous television programs, such as The O.C., Chuck, and Supernatural.

  • Samara Weaving as Bee, Cole’s attractive babysitter.
  • Judah Lewis as Cole, a 12-year-old boy whose parents still hire a babysitter when they go out.
  • Hana Mae Lee as Sonya, Bee’s goth friend and part of her cult.
  • Robbie Amell as Max, Bee’s jock friend who is part of her cult.
  • Bella Thorne as Allison, Bee’s dim-witted cheerleader friend who is part of her cult.
  • Andrew Bachelor as John, Bee’s friend and part of her cult.
  • Emily Alyn Lind as Melanie, Cole’s neighbor and friend who secretly has a crush on him. She is the one who encourages him to spy on Bee.
  • Leslie Bibb as Cole’s mother
  • Ken Marino as Cole’s father
